Our family-run, traditional, and authentic guesthouse with a view of the majestic Dolomites, is located
amidst the idyllic natural landscape, in the sunny upper Puster Valley, at the entrance to the spa park of Niederdorf.
Here, Maria, her daughter Viktoria and her son Leonhard warmly welcome the guests, because genuine hospitality is the key to an unforgettable vacation.

How it all started

Everything started in 1830, when Mr. Vidal built a villa with garden. At the villa, he established a fig coffee factory, which operated until 1935.
Today, all that remains of the original estate is the Villa Vidal and the adjoining English garden.

Close to our Pension Villa Vidal, you will find numerous hiking trails, exciting cycling routes, and beautiful natural spots just waiting to be discovered.

The Monte Elmo

The view from Helm is unparalleled and can’t be found anywhere else. The sunrise experience ride is particularly popular. Children love the kids' area and hikers benefit from the variety of paths and trails available. Additionally, you can conveniently reach the cable car directly by train, making access to the experience even easier.

The Kronplatz

Kronplatz, one of the most stunning holiday destinations in the Dolomites, transforms into a true paradise for nature lovers and active adventurers during the summer months. Enjoy breathtaking views while hiking along the numerous well-marked trails that wind through spectacular mountain landscapes. Families will find plenty of fun with our kid-friendly recreational offerings, while cyclists can explore exciting mountain biking routes.

Prato Piazza

Not far from Lake Braies, amidst the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park you can find a small nature wonder called Plätzwiese/Prato Piazza. The high alpine pasture at over 2000 meters offers a breath-taking panoramic view of the Dolomites. The beautiful Plätzwiese invites outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy exciting activities like hiking, biking, snowshoeing, ski touring, and more all year round. A special highlight is the 6-kilometer-long cross-country skiing trail.

It’s a small, picturesque valley, nestled in the majestic Dolomites, which stretches through the Three Peaks Nature Park. Look forward to charming alpine meadows, lush forests, and impressive mountains. In summer, hikers can explore a variety of scenic trails, while in winter, snow enthusiasts enjoy thrilling ski tours and snowshoe adventures. Cross-country skiers, too, will find everything their hearts desire in the Fischleintal.

The Lake Braies

One of the most beautiful and popular lakes in South Tyrol, which is in a fantastic scenery of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park is Lake Braies. The best way to explore the emerald green lake is during a relaxing walk or a romantic boat trip. Lake Braies and the breath-taking Dolomites have been part of UNESCO World Heritage since 2009.

By car:
From Germany/Austria: Via the Brenner Motorway (A22) towards Modena: Take the Brixen/Vahrn exit and then follow the Puster Valley state road (SS49) for about 50 km until you reach Niederdorf.
From Austria:
Via Lienz in East Tyrol, crossing the Austrian-Italian border (state road B100-E66).
From Italy: Via the Brenner Motorway (A22) towards Brenner: Take the Brixen/Vahrn exit and then follow the Puster Valley state road (SS49) for about 50 km until you reach Niederdorf.
